Q: Can I study face to face in September 2021?

A: We have responded to comments from our students who tell us that they have welcomed the flexibility of online learning, but have missed opportunities to engage with staff and peers in person. Our approach to learning and teaching prioritises interactive, in-person, on campus teaching, such as seminars, group work and practical activities. These will be complemented by lectures, which may be online, in person or both. 

In the event that Government-imposed restrictions require us to stop in-person teaching and limit social interactions, you will be able to continue ‘meeting’ with your fellow students or lecturers – you will meet virtually in live, interactive sessions until in-person teaching can resume. We can guarantee that you will be able to continue your studies with us whatever the circumstances and the College will continue to provide the best student experience it can.

If you’re a new international student holding a student visa ready to join us in September 2021, the UK Home Office have recently confirmed that if you are unable to travel you are allowed to study online from your home country until 6 April 2022.  However, noting that we are prioritising in-person teaching on campus such as seminars and practical’s complemented by online lectures, we recommend you travel to the UK as soon as practicable, and when safe to do so, and transition to face to face at the earliest opportunity.

Q: I already have an offer, how can I keep informed on next steps?

Q: My school/university is closed and I am worried that I will not be able to meet the academic conditions on my offer. What should I do?

A: In many countries individual schools or universities may have closed or teaching may be restricted. If you are affected, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of any opportunity of any online provision available from your institution or exam board to ensure you are as well prepared as possible when your school or university reopens. We will monitor the situation and update offer holders as we know more.

 

Q: My local IELTS testing centre is closed and I am worried I will not be able to meet the English conditions on my offer. Do I have any other options?

A: Brunel University London Pathway College accepts a wide variety of qualifications for students to meet the English language requirement.

Q: What happens if I start online and then receive a visa refusal?

A: We have introduced our first student insurance policy (Navinsure) that allows for a claim in relation to a UK Student Route visa refusal. Providing increased peace of mind for families and minimising your financial risk during these uncertain times. A claim can be made if a visa refusal is received under no fault of your own.* 

 

Q: What is the cost of the Navinsure policy? 

A: £350 for a 14-month period.

A: For more information, please click here. If you would then like to go ahead and purchase the policy, you should indicate your intent to purchase on your offer acceptance form.

* Refusals on the basis of finances, documentation errors or fraud will not be covered. Where a student receives a relevant refusal, the claim will cover a maximum of £9000. Navinsure policy fee will not be refunded.

 

Q: Can I visit the campus during this time?

A: Unfortunately, you are not able to visit the campus at present in line with government advice. However, please visit our virtual tour to see the campus from the comfort of your own home. We hope to welcome you to Brunel soon!

 

Q: Will there be events that I can join online to learn more about the University and the Pathway College?
