On Arrival
When you arrive in the UK, you can either use our Airport collection service or make your own way to the Brunel University London Pathway College and Brunel University London campus.
Please see below what to expect as well as what to consider when you arrive.
Immigration Control
When you arrive in the UK you will first go to collect your luggage, then pass through Immigration Control. You will need to join a different queue depending on if you are arriving from within or outside the EU. You may have to wait for up to two hours at immigration during busy periods. Keep all of your documents to hand to ensure you get through Immigration Control as quickly as possible.
Transport from Heathrow
Buses
The U3 Bus leaves from Heathrow Airport Bus Station starting from early morning, and a bus leaves roughly every ten minutes. You can find the bus timetable here. The bus stops outside Brunel University London Security Office (see map) - please ask the driver where to get off if you are not sure. The Transport for London website provides information on using public transport in London; see useful websites below.
How do I buy a bus pass?
London has one of the largest urban transport networks in the world, with integrated bus, river and road systems spanning the city's 32 boroughs.
When you arrive you will be able to buy an Oyster card from any station in London. An Oyster card is a smartcard which can hold pay as you go credit, Travelcard (travel pass) and Bus and Tram Pass season tickets. Use it to travel on bus, Tube, Tram, DLR, London Overground and most National Rail services in London. You can also use your wireless contact credit/debit card to travel on the tube and buses in London.
Taxis
Alternatively, if you wish to travel by taxi, a Black Cab from Heathrow Airport to the University should cost around £35.00 - £40.00, however please be aware prices may vary. Booking in advance with Brunel University London Pathway College is a cheaper option; see 'Airport Pick-Up'.
How to get your room keys
You need to go to the accommodation office, in square E3 of the campus (see map) to get your key. If you're collecting your accommodation keys out of hours, you will need to collect your keys from security, located in the Michael Stirling building (located in D4 in the campus map).
