Gateway to Medicine Foundation Programme (MBBS)

Course Overview

This intensive two-semester foundation programme is designed to prepare ambitious students for entry into one of London’s newest medical schools. Combining clinical, scientific and communication skills development with early diagnostic training and interview coaching, this programme supports progression onto Brunel University of London’s 5-year MBBS, while also offering flexible pathways into related health degrees such as Biomedical Sciences.

Course Details

Foundation Modules

Biology 1 & 2

Macromolecules, cell biology, enzyme activity, homeostasis, physiology, genetics, evolution, biodiversity, and molecular biology.

Chemistry 1 & 2

A fundamental basis for the study of chemistry in preparation for university-level studies.

Mathematics

Advanced maths and statistical analysis for medicine.

Professional Skills in Healthcare

Essential knowledge, practical skills, and professional understanding for healthcare – covering the healthcare system, professional roles, communication, ethics, and reflective practice.

Research Methods

Critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and clinical reporting.

Interactive Learning Skills

Developing academic literacy, communication skills and cross-discipline expression.

Degrees Available

After successfully completing the Brunel Pathway College course, you can progress directly onto the Medicine MBBS programme at Brunel Medical School.

Alternatively, you can progress onto any of the following degrees at Brunel University of London:

 

*For BSc programmes in Nursing, Occupational Therapy (OT), and Physiotherapy (PT), students are required to complete a professionally focused interview during their foundation year. This interview is a mandatory progression requirement for entry into the degree programme. Students are also required to achieve an overall IELTS 7.0 (no less than 6.5 in each band) for progression.
